Giovanni Ederle

19/08/2020 by Camilla Conforti 14 Comments

Today I would like to talk to you about a little magic winery located on the hills Torricelle of Verona, where the wine is not just a product of the earth, it reflects the passion and the love of its owner, Giovanni, for his territory and his vineyards.

This winery is owned and founded by Giovanni Ederle, born in Valpolicella in 1987.
He has spent his life in the hills of San Mattia Torricelle in the lee of the center of Verona living with his sister Camilla (who know manage the charming family agriturismo) as they grew up carefree and wild among the vineyards and olive groves.

The winery is just a couple of minutes drive from downtown Verona and it has about 6 hectares of vineyards and 15 hectares of olive groves: itโ€™s a small beautiful company founded in 2008 and since 2009 Giovanni has not used synthetic chemical phytosanitary products but only natural ones such as copper and sulfur, the farm have an organic farming system.

The cellar is still quite small and the idea of the wine tasting experience is to let you feel this cozy familiar but still very professional atmosphere.
A walk through the vineyards and a visit to the winery will be the best way to start the tasting experience, in a building full of charm and history with an enchanting and special position. They organize 3 different types of tastings, all accompanied by local products and a delicious seasonal KM0 cuisine. At the moment the winery produces 7 different types of wines, two whites IGT made by 60% of Garganega grapes and 40% of Chardonnay grapes, and five reds made using the same type and percent of native grapes of Valpolicella area like Corvina (50%), Corvinone (30%) and Rondinella (20%). What makes the difference between a wine to the other is the different techniques and aging in the making. And that’s why the Valpolicellas wines are so unique!

All Giovanniโ€™s wines are made using a special technology against the cold to control the fermentation temperature of the musts and to keep the aromas lighter. He said: โ€œ I would like that my wines are fine and elegant, unpretentious and never anonymous. It is not easy to start with nothing and immediately obtain the wine you have in mind. Time by the time and with each harvest you always want that the wines reach the maximum expression of your land.โ€ And I really think that Giovanni’s on the right way, his wines are delicious and very easy and well paring with many different types of food (Italian and also Asian), the winery and the location are very special and charming, and right next to his agriturismo (farmhouse) “Corte San Mattia” which is a romantic, bucolic and unique location where to spend a lovely vacation. All these combinations make the winery “Giovanni Ederle” and his agriturismo a must-see stop when you will pass by Verona and Valpolicella area!

I do believe all of the concepts you have presented to your post. They are very convincing and will definitely work. Nonetheless, the posts are very brief for beginners. Could you please lengthen them a little from next time? Thank you for the post. Cristi Enos Jdavie
